Presenting CALTA21 to Art Museum Curators in Detroit

Panel organizer and moderator Sandra Q. Firmin, Director and Chief Curator, Colorado University Art Museum invited Patricia Lannes, CALTA21 Project Director to be a panelist during last week’s annual 2014 meeting of The Association of Art Museum Curators at the Detroit Institute of Arts. The panel presented “Urban Ecologies and Cultural Exchange” and discussed issues of social and cultural inclusion in museums, while showcasing different initiatives. Panelists had the opportunity to present to an audience of over 200 curators from all over the country ways that curatorial, education and programmatic efforts can join forces to transform their organizations into inclusive spaces of engagement and empowerment for their communities.
